How To Make The Most of Your Peloton Workout

The fitness center at our apartments in Northridge is stocked with the most innovative equipment, including the buzzworthy Peloton bikes everyone is raving about.

Before you hop aboard, make the most of your ride with these tips.

Go Beyond the Ride

The Peloton system offers you much more than just a great ride. They have videos and classes about stretching, yoga, strength training, outdoor exercising, meditation, and more. Take advantage of these other options to keep your whole mind, body, and spirit healthy.

Begin at the Beginning

Even if you have been a fitness buff for quite some time it is best to start with beginner classes. These give you the opportunity to learn the nuances of the Peloton bikes and introduce you to the class and instructor format. You may just find you learn a few things you didn't know you needed to know.

Learn the Jargon

All the classes are given a name based on the type of workout you can expect or the music that will be serenading your ride. Understanding the description of the class will help you choose the one that best fits your fitness level and determination. Some of these include:

Groove – Instead of an instructor setting the pace, riders are encouraged to ride to the beat of the music.

HIIT – This consists of periods of intensely paced activity followed by brief rest periods.

Power Zone – These are based on your established fitness levels and take you through seven zones of effort starting at "Very Easy" and pushing you all the way to "Max Effort".

Another important tip to know about Peloton bikes is that you and your neighbors at our Northridge apartments have access to them in our LIFT fitness center. In fact, there are tons of great ways to work out at Aspire. To find out more about our fitness center or any of the other great amenities, contact us today.
